Dr. Kamran Nawaz Attended 3-days Progress Review Meeting & Consultative Workshop by QAA-HEC

The Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education Commission is mandated to strengthening the Quality Assurance System through Internal and External Quality Assurance Mechanism. In this regard, a three-day Progress Review Meeting and Consultative Workshop was organized for the Heads of QECs of all KP Universities at Khyber Medical University, Peshawar during April 16-18, 2024. Dr. Kamran Nawaz represented the Director Quality Assurance, UAP in the event.

Theme of the meeting was PSG-2023 (Pakistan Precepts, Standards and Guidelines) and Institutional Quality Culture that marks a significant transformation in Pakistan's quality assurance (QA) practices for higher education. The revised framework encourages and facilitates continuous improvement, proactive contextual problem-solving, engagement with stakeholders, and adherence to international standards.

The Head of the QECs across the KP Universities participated in the meeting with brain storming session on the revamped QA framework, way forward followed by Focused group discussions on Reviewing Effectiveness of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Bodies (REQAAB), Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) and Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE). The Secretary Higher Education Department, Director Quality Assurance Agency QAA- HEC and Executive Director (E.D) HEC express their views that they are determined and will join hand for the improving implementing the quality culture in Higher Education. The participants actively participated in the discussion.

Mr. Mina Khan Afridi, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the chief guest during closing ceremony who assured that his team is working hard for the uplift of Quality Education and Financial deficit of the Higher Education Institutions. He distributed certificates among the participants.
