Accreditation Process:

The Directorate of Quality Assurance is mandated to perform internal assessment through Self-Assessment Process to ensure Internal Quality Assurance. Similarly, external quality is ensured by the Accreditation Councils. The following Accreditation Councils are related to the disciplines offered at the University of Agriculture Peshawar:

  1. 1. National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC)
  2. 2. Pakistan Veterinary and Medical Council (PVMC)
  3. 3. National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC)
  4. 4. National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC)

Progress on Accreditation is mentioned below:


1. Accreditation of Agricultural Programs by NAEAC:

In 1st round the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) accredited all agricultural programs offered by the University of Agriculture Peshawar and its sub-campus. These accreditations were valid till June 2016.

The National Agricultural Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) started 2nd phase of accreditation in June 2016. In this connection, they visited the University of Agriculture, AMK Campus Mardan for external evaluation and accreditation of B.Sc(Hons) and M.Sc(Hons) of following disciplines on October 06, 2016:

  2. 2. Horticulture
  3. 3. Soil & Environmental Sciences

In 2nd round the NAEAC team visited main campus of the Agriculture University Peshawar in February 2017 and February 2018 to accredit B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (Hons) programs of following eight disciplines:

  1. 1. Agronomy
  2. 2. Soil & Environmental Sciences
  3. 3. Entomology
  4. 4. Plant Breeding & Genetics
  5. 5. Agricultural Chemistry
  6. 6. Plant Pathology
  7. 7. Horticulture
  8. 8. Institute of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering (IBGE)

2. Accreditation of DVM Program

Accreditation Inspection Team of Pakistan Veterinary and Medical Council (PVMC) visited the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences for accreditation of its DVM program on October 26, 2019

3. Accreditation of Business Program

Presently the DQA is involved in helping IBMS in preparation of Self-Assessment Reports of its various degree programmes. Business programs of the IBMS will be accredited from National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC).

At this stage, IBMS has been registered with National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) and its BBA (Hons) and MBA (1.5) programs have been approved in screening process. The mentor visit was also arranged for IBMS on January 4, 2017. During the Mentor Visit, the Director IBMS presented the current status of the IBMS. The Mentors guided the IBMS's administration and faculty regarding necessary steps to be taken before applying for accreditation. The Mentor submitted a Mentor Report to the IBMS in which they have identified weak areas in the IBMS. The Institute is currently working on those areas identified in the Mentor Report.


4. Accreditation of Computer Science and Information Technology Programs

National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) has the mandate to accredited degree programs in the discipline of Computer Science and Information Technology. There are two programs are under the purview of NCEAC, i.e. BSCS) and BS(IT) programs which are currently being offered by the Institute of Computer Sciences and Information Technology (ICS/IT).

The Accreditation Inspection team of NCEAC visited this University on October 4, 2019 for external evaluation and accreditation of BS(IT) and BS(CS) programs. The report is awaited.
